As a public institution in accordance with Directive (EU) 2016/2102, we strive to make our websites and mobile applications accessible in accordance with the provisions of the Hessian Disability Equality Act (HessBGG) and the Hessian Regulation on Barrier-Free Information Technology (HVBIT) for the implementation of Directive (EU) 2016/2102.

Compatibility Status with Requirements

The accessibility requirements are derived from §§ 3 paragraphs 1 to 4 and § 4 of the HVBIT, which was enacted based on § 14 of the HessBGG.

The assessment of compliance with the requirements is based on a self-assessment conducted in February 2023.

The assessment revealed that the website is partially compliant with the aforementioned requirements due to the following exceptions.

Incompatibility with HVBIT

The following barriers are incompatible with § 3 paragraph 1 of the HVBIT:


• Textboxes are partially not read by screen readers, and there is no indication of the obligation to fill them out.

• Upload fields are not recognized by screen readers.

• Some elements cannot be navigated using the keyboard.

• Long pages/tabs lack the prompting to scroll, and the area not displayed on the screen is not read aloud.

• Checkboxes are not read aloud, and there is no indication of the obligation to fill them out.

Currently, there are no accessible alternatives. The page is still under construction, and existing barriers will be gradually removed.

After a period of six weeks, you have the right to contact the enforcement and monitoring office directly. The office, with the involvement of all parties, seeks to identify the circumstances of the lack of accessibility so that the institution can address and rectify them.
